McCain Foods was founded in 1957, by two brothers from Florenceville, New Brunswick, Cancada. The pair then launced a new family enterprise business that produced frozen french fries. In Aroostook County McCain Foods is based in Easton. In that first year, 30 employees produced about 1,500 pounds of product per hour. Sales for that year(1957) totalled to $152,678. By 2001, annual sales had reached $5.3 Billion.
